I’ve had the iphone for a few days now and I’m slowly getting used to the keyboard. My typing speed has improved a great deal now that I can rely on the Apple typing program to correct my mistakes. I don’t have many apps installed yet. But what I so have has made me glad I didn’t get a blackberry.
Of course, I love the WordPress app. But the one I get the most use out of is Shazam. I used it I figure out a song at the end of a recent Chuck episode; I loved the music so much, I bought the artist’s album and as soon as I can afford more of their tunes, I’ll be buying them, too.
If you haven’t tried Shazam yet I highly advise you do. You won’t be disappointed.
Just installed a new theme for the website. You can’t see it unless you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone. If you do, them you can tell the site has been optimized for viewing on your device.
Because even if you have 3G phone, why waste it loading full sites if you don’t have to.
As I type this, I’m enjoying an Earl Grey tea at a Starbucks in Manhattan. I picked up a new iPhone the other day -giving up on 5 or 6 years of using a Blackberry for email and web surfing. It’s been a good transition so far and I don’t regret the decision at all. I’m still getting used to the keyboard but typing right now isn’t too difficult.
The rest of what an iPhone can do has been great and I’m enjoying the apps I’ve downloaded so far. Right now, I have Twitteriffic, WordPress, Facebook, and Pandora; all apps I use on my desktop. I’ll download some games later.
I miss the push email of my blackberry and the simplicity in which it sent emails. But the overall integration of an iPod and phone with email is so good, in a week I’ll wonder how I lived without an iPhone.
Of the features it offers, the wi-fi is one of my favorites. Yes, I know that Blackberries have that too. But having the phone auto switch to my home network to the 3g network is awesome and it really makes the device worth it. Obvously, the iTunes and iPod integration is key, too.
I wish there was a way for someone to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to make it easier to type but, again, I’m sure I’ll get used to the screen keyboard soon enough.
He’ll, I’m just glad I have a phone that works; my Blackberry gave me a SIM Card error everytime I bumped the phone and I’d have to reset the thing. It did that for a year.
Anyway…
Time to finish my tea and get on with my day. Gotta do some shopping while I listen to my music and take a few calls in between stores.
Not only is he obviously skilled at editing, he’s a Star Wars fan!
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed watching this Star Wars a capella tribute to John Williams. He does this “professionally” so he might not need or want another job but, still.
You can check out his YouTube profile, here. Below is his Star Wars/John Williams Tribute that’s currently in the ‘featured video’ section.
MSNBC.com and NewsWare have some pretty cool election widgets. I’ve embedded one of them here so if any of the millions of internet users want to check up on the latest election results, they don’t have to waste their time going anywhere else.
