Somehow, signs, boats, crab & lobster cages, and all sorts of items found in or around the shore get damaged and left as garbage. This is actually a warning sign telling people to stay off the clay cliffs that surround the lighthouse in Gay Head on Martha's Vineyard. But much like the abandoned boats you see laying around the shore, this sign fell and was left to serve as a reminder of how wasteful we can be - even when trying to do the right thing and warn trespassers of the harm they can cause to nature.
Its very ironic, actually, to see a sign warning others of the frailty of the ecosystem when it is causing harm.

I just can't help but capture wildlife... even if I've seen it before, I just want to get closer.

Taken at South Beach on Martha's Vineyard.

Today was a rainy day. All of New England (and much of the entire East Cost for that matter) is getting severe thunderstorms and rainfall; because of the weather, no one went to the beach - except for me.
While there weren't any signs posted saying the beach was closed, the dangerous surf advisory and the noticeably empty lifeguard stations meant it was not a good day for a dip in the ocean. It was raining when I took this picture and I had to clean my lens a few times before I got this.
