I wanted to post something meaningful but sleep is badly needed. If you see another post before tomorrow afternoon or night, you know I couldn’t sleep again.

Google Maps has changed a little and I guess I never updated my code. Now, I can’t get my maps to display. I know the code is right but the coordinates are not. Plus, some WP-Cache’ing plugin won’t serve up the latest version of the site for FireFox.
Update: I got it working - had to reverse the coordinates and change the zoom level. It should be good now.
I’m up again. For the third night in a row, I haven’t been able to sleep. I’ve got a cold and its not making it easy for me to sleep. In fact, I think the medicine I’m on is keeping me up. The “non-drowsy” meds should read: “Keep you alert because we pump ephedrine through you.”
So I tossed and turned for about three and a half hours before I got up. I made myself a sandwich and started reading the news. Now, I’m working on fixing the sidebar code and - so far - have removed most of what the XHTML validator had problems with.
Most of the problems are related to the Google Maps API. Either I didn’t follow the code right or Google isn’t XHTML compliant. Not that it matters to me but if I want to pass the test, I might have to get rid of the map.
The rest of the issues are the old Blogger tags I mentioned earlier or tags in the code that were never closed. So I closed and removed the tags just now… Looks the same to me so I’m keeping the new, cleaner format until someone finds an error with it.
So I’m almost done getting the site to where I want it. I have some code cleanup to do on the sidebar because most of my content I simply cut and paste from my old Blogger.com template. Some of the tags don’t exist in WordPress 2.0 and much of it isn’t XHTML 1.0 compliant which I think I want to achieve.
For you trusty readers, it doesn’t mean much. You should see everything you remember seeing. You might see more as I play around with more plug-ins and add more rich content to the side.
After I get done with all this cosmetic stuff, however, it’s back to deep thought.
Maybe.
So in my quest to test everything for the new WordPress 2.0 version of this blog, I’m uploading some pictures.
Here is a picture I took while in Central Park in February of 2005. The orange gates was an art exhibit that stretched the park and my, then fiance (now wife), went for a walk around the park and took some pictures with the new camera we got ourselves I got us for Christmas.
